Cascade County Leaders Learning about Healthy Communities
Cascade County leaders are learning how to combat obesity problem on a local level while attending a health conference in Atlanta this week. Cascade County was recently awarded an ACHIEVE community grant (Action Communities for Health, Innovation, and EnVironmental changE) . As part of the grant, several members of the community were selected to attend the conference in Georgia, working to develop a strategy to encourage healthy choices in Cascade County. More >>

Fifteen U.S. Communities Receive Funding and Mentors to Implement Local Strategies to Reduce Chronic Disease
The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD), the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), and the YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) are announcing 15 communities in 17 states that will develop and implement population-based strategies that prevent chronic disease and related risk factors through a locally collaborative approach.
